Nuchang mushroom induces anticancer activity in human pancreatic cancer cell line

In a study from Taiwan (Journal of Nutritional Biochem (2011), doi:10.1016/j.jnutbio.2011.04.015) suggests Antrodia Camphorata , a camphor tree mushroom aka Nuchang mushroom induced an arrest of cell cycle at G1 phase and subsequent apoptosis in pancreatic cancer AsPC-1 cells through mTOR-mediated translational pathways.

The study used Golden Biotech’s Antrodia Camphorata extracted compound, who dedicates years of resources into Antrodia Camphorata researches. This latest 2011 finding presents another breakthrough since the anticancer potential against human hepatocellular carcinoma cells back in 2009.
